The Newton Needham Regional Chamber has adopted an inclusion statement supporting DEI, anti-racism and anti-bias.

The statement was drafted by the Chamber’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee, which has also been helping us create programming designed to help its board and its members. The committee’s initial big project was last fall’s publication of the 50 Most Influential Business People of Color in the Newton/Needham/Metrowest area and they have also hosted learning events for Chamber members.

The Chamber’s inclusion statement begins as follows:

We believe businesses and nonprofits should foster workplace and customer environments that provide equal access and equity of opportunity through the intentional inclusion of all.

Celebrating diversity, championing equity and cultivating inclusion, with humility, dignity and civility, are critical to the economic and cultural vitality and overall health of our region.

To best serve and represent our members, the Chamber will work continually to ensure inclusion is a meaningful part of all aspects of our organization’s operations and strategic initiatives.
